Member Districts Win Farm to School Grant

Congratulations to Forestville and Pine Valley Central School Districts, Sidney Central School District, Broome-Tioga BOCES, and St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES – they are all direct recipients of Farm-to-School grants! Eight additional grants were awarded to non-school organizations, including various county Cooperative Extension programs, to benefit over 200,000 students in NY. The goal is to increase quantity and choices of healthy local food in schools, and help students learn to make good eating choices. When students get the nutrition they need, they learn better in school. This also benefits the local economy by shifting funds from large companies to local farms.
